Sheraz Faisal is a Lahore-based visual artist. He graduated from The University of Punjab, Lahore with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, (2006). He then went on to pursue his Masters at the same institution (2008). Furthermore,
he attained a second Masters degree in Art Education from SVAD, Beaconhouse National University (2011-2014).
Faisal has been seen experimenting with various mediums and ideas. His portfolio consists of a variety of works, some made solely out of paper where as others are digital manipulations.
He has exhibited at Khaas twice, both times with a different approach to art making. However, he is commonly seen to be using digital manipulation and photography.
The artist touches upon social issues such as terrorism or political turmoil. Faisal makes these statements by incorporating imagery of bullets and grenades either into reproductions of classic European paintings such as using them to replace the luscious apples in “Adam and Eve” or by subtly placing them between layers of paper.
The artist has displayed his work in Paper One (2012) and Doppelganger (2015) at Khaas Gallery, Islamabad.
