Sana Arjumand graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore in 2005, with painting as her major. She was an assistant lecturer at National College of Arts, Rawalpindi campus from 2007-2009 and received a High Achievers award from the Cambridge University for Art and Aociology in Advance Level Studies.
Since her graduation, Sana has exhibited in Pakistan and internationally.
In 2007 she participated in a number of group shows including: “Drawings of the Soul”, at University of Sunderland; “Lantern of the East”; 17th Pyeomg Paek International Art Festival, Nake Art Museum, Korea; “361 Hours of Dialogue”, Broadway Gallery, Amman, Jordan and “Figurative Art Pakistan”, Aicon Gallery, London.
In 2008 her work was shown in Dubai Art Fair, Hong Kong Art Fair, East West Centre, Hawaii, and she had solo shows at Canvas Gallery and Gallery 6.
Sana was a part of the ART OMI Residency, New York, in 2009, and the same year she showed at Flux Festival, London, Dubai Art Fair (IAS), Delhi Art Fair and other group shows in Pakistan.
Her first solo show was in 2010 at Aicon Gallery, New York. In the same year she also participated in R.M studio Residency at Lahore, Pakistan. Some of the places she exhibited include: Exhibit 320, Delhi, India; Apparao Galleries, Delhi, India and Abu Dhabi Art Fair.
In 2011 her work was shown at Dubai Art Fair by Aicon Gallery, and participated in four group shows in New York and Pakistan. Sana received extensive media coverage for her show in Delhi, India, titled “Love is a Four Letter Word, at Gallery Latitude 28.
2012 presented the opportunity to participate in a two person show at Gallery 6, Islamabad. She participated in four major group shows in Karachi and Lahore some of which include “Mien” held at Koel and “Letters to Taseer” at the Drawing Room Gallery. Her work was also shown at the Aicon gallery booth at Dubai Art Fair.
Sana had solo shows at Mary Place Gallery, Sydney and Canvas Gallery, Karachi in 2013 and she participated in Dubai Art Fair and a group show in Mumbai, India.
Sana’s work appeared in Art Info as one of the “Top Ten Rising Stars In Pakistan and India”. She was also featured in articles by Friday Times, Blue Chip Magazine, Hello Magazine, Niche Magazine, Indian Times and Art Now. Other previous publications include Time Magazine, Asia Art Pacific, H.A.S magazine, Libas, Dawn, Tribune and The News. Her work has also been discussed on several International blogs and forums.
